THE WALL STICKERS INVENTORS
In 1992 Crearreda presented the first series of decorative adhesives for kids rooms. From then on, Crearreda production has been enhanced both in volume and variety, so as to provide the widest and most complete range on home decoration market.
AN IDEA BORN BY CHANCE
The history of Crearreda began with the idea – that illustrator and painter Tiziana Bramati shared with her husband Giuseppe Botta – of making a series of cardboard decorations with double-sided tape to be applied to the walls of their children’s bedrooms. Giuseppe decided to develop his wife’s vision on a larger scale with the help of his brother Francesco Botta, with whom he threw himself headlong into the enterprise.
If nowadays it might seem quite obvious that adhesive vinyl is the ideal material for making Wall Stickers, yet no such material existed in the early 90s. Hence – after long hours of hard work, discoveries, steps back and forward, lucky encounters with clients an suppliers who believed in this project – the outcome of the first product line was at least adventurous.
THE FIRST SIGNS OF SUCCESS
In March 1992, after more than a year of trial and error, the first fruits of our hard work began to emerge. What was mere vision had finally taken form: the Train, the Ladybug and the Tree, our first three decorations, were ready for distribution. At that point we had to face the challenge of markets, in order to acquire commercial success from our vision. That was not easy at all.
Several phone calls were made, day by day, to potential distributors, but we never made it past switchboard operators: “We do not deal with this kind of products” was the most frequent answer.
Finally, one day we accomplished our first goal.
A small toy store chain in Milan ordered the first 96 items, although on consignment only.
And, as we expected, they sold them out!

CREARREDA TODAY
Today, Crearreda is no longer a strictly family business. It has evolved into a company with dozens of collaborators and designers, a distribution centre of 2,000 square metres, a catalogue of thousands of products and hundreds of distributors all over the globe and, it goes without saying, countless imitators.
What hasn’t changed since 1992 is the care, enthusiasm and passion that drive us to create and craft our products: this is how we work, because this is how we live.
